Women of the ELCA

The Women of the Church meet in a variety of ways to assist in the mission and ministry of Trinity and the Church throughout the world. The Women of the Church (Women of the ELCA or WELCA) have a governing board, which meets on the 1st Sunday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Jen Smith is the president and contact person 330-676-1874.

Esther Circle is a group within the Women of the Church at Trinity. The Esther Circle is a diverse group of women ranging from college students, singles to mothers. Any woman is welcome to come join in the monthly meetings and activities. The Esther Circle meets on the 4th Thursday of each month in member’s homes. Cristy Ludrosky is the contact person for the Circle and can be reached at 330-678-8741.

Martha Mary Circle is a group within the Women of the Church that began in the early 1980’s as a young women’s Bible Study group. Today Bible Study and fellowship remain an important and central part of this Circle for women of all ages. The Martha Mary Circle meets on the 2nd Monday of each month in member’s homes. Sue Hardwick is the contact person for the Circle and can be reach at 330-678-1615.

Rebecca Circle is a group of women who meet during the daytime and have had a long history here at Trinity serving the Church and meeting the needs of its fellow members. The Rebecca Circle meets Meets on the Thursday of the first full week of the month except for Jan – Feb and July – August. Helen Glenn is the contact person for the Circle and can be reached at 330-673-8167.

Sarah Circle has the distinction of being the first women’s group at Trinity beginning as Trinity Fidelis. Sarah Circle meets to support one another and reach out to the congregation and our community in a variety of ways. Sarah Circle meets on the Monday of the 2nd full week of the month from May – October.  Jo Lofland is the contact person for the Circle.  See Jo or call the Church office for more information.

Tabitha Circle is the quilting and craft group of women at Trinity. Yearly they raffle off a quilt, make lap robes and participate in a number of Craft shows. Tabitha meets on the 4th Thursday of each month in the Esther room on the lower level of Trinity. Michelle Smith is the contact 330-673-7695.

Church Women United is an ecumenical gathering of women. Yearly they host a World day of prayer, a May breakfast and a World Community Day. Financially their offerings go toward Church World Services for global peace and justice issues. Diane Bowman and Marilyn Zeman are the contacts for Church Women United

Groups 

T-n-T is a group of young adults who meet monthly for fellowship. Jen and Matt Smith are the contact people for T-n-T and can be reached at 330-689-0191.

 

Trinitarians is a group of adults age 40 and up who meet monthly for fellowship events. Hugh Taylor is the contact person and can be reached at 330-688-3556.

 

Boy Scout Troop #251 is a chartered BSA troop through Trinity. The scouts meet on Monday evenings at 6:30p.m. at Trinity. For information about the Troop contact Mitch Darmon 330-673-5618.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Sunday evenings from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Social Room.

 

A number of Trinity members have participated in the weekend renewal experience Via de Cristo. In other Church bodies it is known as Cursillo, Emmaus Walk, Tres Dias. The Via de Cristo people continue to meet weekly in support and fellowship as they seek to grow in their piety, study and action.
